There’s something exciting about a blank slate. A new challenge. A fresh timeline. For me, that’s a 90-day marketing journey I’m about to kick off.

To be completely honest, I don’t feel fully ready. I thought by now I’d have every detail ironed out—messaging perfected, assets lined up, ads ready to launch. Instead, I’ve been sitting with a stack of old marketing books and my scribbled notes from years past. Funny enough, that’s what gave me clarity.

Rediscovering My Marketing Roots

As I flipped through DotCom Secrets, Traffic Secrets, and Expert Secrets by Russell Brunson, it hit me—I do have the knowledge. I do have the frameworks. I’ve just let them sit on the shelf. Revisiting these ideas reminded me that marketing isn’t about reinventing the wheel; it’s about execution, testing, and iterating.

Then I went digging through newer recommendations. Three books stood out:

  • This Is Marketing by Seth Godin – timeless lessons on empathy and resonance.
  • Hacking Growth by Sean Ellis & Morgan Brown – the playbook for scalable growth.
  • Hooked by Nir Eyal – the psychology behind habit-forming products.

These reinforced what I already knew: I’m not starting from zero. I’m starting from experience waiting to be applied.

The Game Plan

I sketched out a 90-day roadmap. Here’s how it looks:

October: Foundation & Assets

  • Design screenshots and visuals
  • Record a YouTube demo video
  • Ask friends for honest reviews
  • Launch a landing page for credibility

November: Content & Community

  • Publish weekly blog posts
  • Share on Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit communities
  • Tap into networks: students, devs, productivity fans
  • Submit to AlternativeTo, Product Hunt Upcoming, Hacker News Show HN
  • Add referral perks to spread organically
  • Experiment with YouTube Shorts and TikToks

December: Amplify & Optimize

  • Use in-app messages for reviews
  • Collect and publish testimonials (“Wall of Love”)
  • Run Google Ads and Reddit Ads, doubling down on what works
  • Offer a lifetime premium plan for early adopters
  • Every 2 weeks: check analytics (installs, churn, retention)

Tools in My Arsenal

To make it real, I’m leaning on tools that keep me lean:

  • Canva – for design & assets
  • Loom – quick demo videos
  • Keywords Everywhere – keyword research for visibility
  • Google Analytics – track installs and traffic sources
  • Google Ads, Reddit Ads, Meta Ads – testing paid traffic
  • Wall of Love widget – embed real social proof

The path isn’t going to be perfect, but it’s structured enough to create momentum.

How This Ties to My Product

This whole journey is about putting theory into practice—and the product at the center of it is my new Chrome/Edge extension:

Blockme MotherFocus – a minimal, privacy-first site blocker that helps you reclaim focus and stay productive.

If you’ve ever caught yourself doomscrolling or losing hours to distractions, this extension is built for you. October kicks off the first wave of promotion, so if you’d like to support the journey (and your own focus), you can check it out here.

Stay tuned—I’ll be sharing updates, wins, and lessons learned as I go through this 90-day sprint. Who knows, by the end, you might not just see the growth of a product—you’ll see the growth of a movement around focus and productivity.
