Extension Manager respects your privacy. This page explains how data is handled in the extension.
๐ What We Store
- Extension organization data (folder structure, folder names, extension groupings)
- User preferences (theme choice, view settings, sort preferences)
- Extension metadata (cached extension names, icons, and states for faster loading)
Where it lives:
- 100% local on your device by default
- Optional Browser Sync (if enabled) โ synced via your browser account across Chrome devices
โ What We Don't Collect
- No analytics or tracking โ We don't monitor your usage patterns
- No browsing history โ We never access your browsing data
- No extension usage data โ We don't track which extensions you use or when
- No personal information โ No email, name, or account data required
- No external server storage โ Your data never leaves your device (except Browser Sync if you enable it)
- No ads or third-party scripts โ Completely clean and private
๐ Permissions We Use
Extension Manager uses these Chrome permissions:
- management โ To read your extension list, enable/disable extensions, and access extension metadata
- storage โ To save your folder structure, preferences, and settings locally
- tabs (optional) โ To open extension options/details pages when you click them
We use the absolute minimum permissions required for core functionality. We never request access to:
- Your browsing history
- Website content or data
- Personal information
- Network requests

- All data stays on your device or in Browser Sync (Chrome's built-in sync service)
- No external servers, APIs, or third-party services
- Extension operates entirely within Chrome's sandboxed security environment
- Open source and fully transparent โ you can review the code anytime
โ๏ธ Browser Sync (Optional)
If you enable Chrome Sync:
- Your folder structure and preferences sync across your Chrome browsers
- Data is encrypted and managed by Google Chrome
- You control sync in Chrome Settings โ Sync and Google services
- We don't have access to your synced data โ it's handled entirely by Chrome

You have complete control over your data:
- Delete folders โ Remove any folder and its organization anytime
- Reset settings โ Clear all preferences and start fresh
- Export/Import โ Backup and restore your folder structure (coming soon)
- Uninstall โ Removes all local data immediately

๐ What We See vs. What We Don't
What Extension Manager can see:
- List of your installed extensions (names, icons, IDs)
- Whether each extension is enabled or disabled
- Extension versions and descriptions (from Chrome's API)
What Extension Manager CANNOT see:
- What websites you visit
- What you do inside other extensions
- Your browsing history or bookmarks
- Forms, passwords, or personal data
- Network traffic or requests
