### Can it capture copies from outside the browser?

Yes. When Chrome regains focus, the extension checks the system clipboard via a secure offscreen page and saves new text.

### Does it store images?

No. Clipboard+ focuses on text and URLs for privacy and simplicity.

### How long is history kept?

You can configure retention days and maximum item count in Settings.

### How do I create a snippet?

Open the popup → Snippets → New snippet. Define a shortcut (e.g., ;sig) and the full text.

### Where does expansion work?

In inputs, textareas, and contenteditable fields.

### Can I back up my snippets?

Yes — export/import JSON from the Options page.

### Do you collect analytics or browsing history?

No. Data stays local or in Browser Sync if you enable it.

## Troubleshooting

### System‑wide capture isn’t working.

• Ensure Chrome is focused after copying from another app
• Assign a keyboard shortcut for "Check clipboard now"
• Verify permissions include clipboardRead/Write and offscreen

### Snippets aren’t expanding.

• Ensure the field is input/textarea/contenteditable
• Check for conflicting shortcuts
• Reload the extension after large changes
