This guide helps you install and start using Clipboard+ in minutes.

## 1) Install the extension (Developer mode)

• Open Chrome/Edge → More (⋮) → Extensions → Manage Extensions
• Enable "Developer mode" (top right)
• Click "Load unpacked" and select this project folder
• The extension should appear in your toolbar

## 2) Grant required permissions

• When prompted, allow clipboard permissions
• Confirm any optional permissions you want (e.g., activeTab)

## 3) Enable system‑wide capture (optional)

• Open the extension Options page
• Toggle "Global clipboard monitor" and set your polling interval
• Assign a shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts for "Check clipboard now"

## 4) Create your first snippet

• Open the popup → Snippets tab → New snippet
• Example: Shortcut ;addr → your full address
• Try typing the shortcut into any input field — it should expand

## 5) Search and copy from history

• Click the toolbar icon
• Type to search your clipboard items
• Click an item to copy back to system clipboard

## Troubleshooting 🧰

• If system capture doesn’t work, ensure Chrome is focused after copying from another app
• Check that the offscreen document is allowed (MV3) and permissions include clipboardRead/Write
• Try the shortcut to trigger a manual check

## Uninstalling

• Remove the extension from chrome://extensions or edge://extensions
• Data stored locally will be removed with the extension unless you exported it
