Tab Master

Stop browser slowdowns and tab chaos! Tab Master lets you save all your open tabs with one click, freeing up memory instantly while keeping everything organized and searchable.

Getting Started

This guide helps you install and start using Tab Master in minutes.

1) Install the extension (Developer mode)

  • Open Chrome/Edge → More (⋮) → Extensions → Manage Extensions
  • Enable "Developer mode" (top right)
  • Click "Load unpacked" and select this project folder
  • The extension should appear in your toolbar

2) Grant required permissions

  • When prompted, allow tabs permission
  • Confirm any optional permissions you want (e.g., bookmarks)

3) Save your first tab group

  • Click the Tab Master icon in your toolbar
  • Click "Save All Tabs" to save all open tabs in the current window
  • Give your group a name (e.g., "Research Project")
  • All tabs are now saved and can be closed to free memory!

4) Search and restore tabs

  • Open the Tab Master popup
  • Use the search bar to find any saved tab
  • Click a tab to open it, or click a group to restore all tabs

5) View your analytics

  • Open the full dashboard
  • See beautiful charts showing your browsing patterns
  • Track how many tabs you've saved and memory freed

Troubleshooting 🧰

  • If tabs don't save, ensure the extension has tabs permission
  • For sync issues, check that you're signed into your browser account
  • Try refreshing the extension if keyboard shortcuts don't work

Uninstalling

  • Remove the extension from chrome://extensions or edge://extensions
  • Data stored locally will be removed with the extension unless you exported it
