All functionality operates locally within your browser:
- Screenshots are processed locally in your browser memory
- Image editing and annotations happen entirely on your device
- Gallery storage uses your browser's local storage only
- No data leaves your device unless you explicitly save or share content

## Data Storage

- Saved gallery images are stored locally in your browser storage
- No screenshots or images are stored on our servers
- You control all data through browser storage settings
- Clearing browser data will remove all saved images

## Permissions

MarkUpShot requests minimal permissions necessary for functionality:
- Active tab access: To capture screenshots of the current page
- Storage permission: To save images to your local gallery
- Downloads permission: To save images to your computer
